List of the advantages of bamboo flooring over timber flooring
- Bamboo is affordable and cheaper than many hardwoods
- Bamboo is strong and durable. It is more dense than most hardwoods and has a Janka
rating (refers to its hardness) of 14 which is on the high end of the scale. The benefits
of this hardness is when stilletto shoes are walked over the bamboo there is less
likelihood of indentation marks appearing. The same applies when furniture is dragged
over it without the furniture being lifted.
- Bamboo behaves like timber when it comes to cutting and sawing, and is easilyinstalled just like timber.
- bamboo cannot be installed in wet areas such as bathrooms just like other timbers.
