It is important to level the floor as floor surface imperfections will show through on the surface of the tiles. On a timber floor sand the tenting intersections of the particles boards with an edge sander.

On a concrete floor, if rough, apply a levelling compound. See below the laying process.

ADHESIVE FOR CARPET TILE

The best adhesive for glueing down carpet tiles is the one in the picture. It is pressure sensitive and never goes off entirely which means tiles after glueing can still be pulled up.

The adhesive is called "ENVIRO 2009 SUPER P.S. ADHESIVE"

Buy a tub of pressure sensitive glue (see article above) and a paint roller, a hand trawl with small serrations. Dip the roller into the adhesive and spread it on the floor as you would if you were painting it covering the entire floor. Where the floor meets the wall use the hand trawl to spread the adhesive right up to the wall.
