Stunning in appearance, the floor floating timber flooring offers excellent resistance to day-to-day wear and tear, and is easy to maintain. There is a big menu from which to choose from when it comes to styles and colors.
Floating timber flooring is a pre-finished timber floor, meaning, the floorboards are fully finished (no sanding and polishing needed) and just need to be installed. The installation process is easy. The underlay is laid and the boards, which have edges with an interlocking mechanism that just clip together are laid over the underlay. For a floor measuring approximately 20 square metres it might take only a day.
The boards are more stable than solid timber boards. The floorboards are engineered by compiling fragments of timber and rigidly setting them together with glues. The patterns of compilation are such as to minimise the natural warping tendencies of timber when it is left in one uniform piece. That means they consist of a 2.5 - 3.5 mm real timber veneer top with a 10-12 mm soft wood bottom half. The timber veneer tops are real timber species such as blackbut, spotted gum, tassie oak etcetra.
This enginerred floating floor is cheaper then the full-bodied hardwood timber floor.
